    Make a shopping list
Dig out the cookbooks, look online,
get ideas from friends and then plan
your meals and make a shopping list.
Only buy what you need and don't
    deviate from the list!

Never go shopping on an empty stomach
We've all been there, go to the
    supermarket with an empty stomach
and find the trolley filling with all
kinds of snacks and treats you don't
need. Always go shopping after a meal!

    Reuse carrier bags
    There's nothing worse than getting
to the checkout and being charged
5p for a carrier bag. You've got two
choices: fill every pocket with food
whilst you use your chin to stabilise
the pile of food in your arms or reuse
    old carrier bags.

    Drink more water
Not only does drinking lots of water have great
health benefits, it can also have financial benefits.
Drink a big glass of water before each meal and not
only will you digest it better, you won't eat as
much, helping to save on the food bill. You'll
also find yourself feeling a bit better as you begin
    to get adequately hydrated.

    Make lunch
How much do you spend on lunch
    every day £3, £5, £7? Making lunch
isn't free, but it's cheaper than
buying it. You also get more control
over what you put in your body, to
help keep that waistline in check.

    Use less electricity
Don't worry, you don't have to sit in the
    dark every night! Installing energy-saving
light bulbs, drying clothes around the house
instead of using the tumble dryer and turning
appliances off instead of leaving them on
stand-by are just a few of the things you can
do to cut your electricity bill.

    Compare energy prices
Take time out every couple of months
to make sure you're not losing money
by paying more than you have to for
    gas and electricity. Compare energy
prices online and see how much you
    could save.

Invite friends over instead of going out
Almost every activity at home is less expensive
than going out. Invite some friends over and
host a dinner, game or movie night... and have
a few drinks. Everyone will have fun, the cost
will be low, and there's always someone to
return the favour in the near future.

    Buy in bulk
Don't pay extra for small sizes,
buy big and stock up on offers
    (of non-perishable stuff obviously).
