I don’t want to save into a pension at the moment but might change my mind in the future. What should I do?

If you don’t want to stay enrolled in a pension scheme, you can opt out.  If you opt out of the scheme within one month of being auto-enrolled, you’ll be treated as if you had never joined the scheme. If you change your mind, you may be able to opt back in – ask your employer if you want to do this. If you stay opted out of the scheme, your employer will normally put you back into pension saving three years after you’ve opted out. If you move jobs, you may be auto-enrolled into a new workplace pension scheme. This will depend on the size of your new employer, when you move, and if you meet the criteria to be enrolled. You’ll still be able to opt out again if you’d like to.
