Following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), what is The People’s Pension doing to protect my data and stop it from falling into the wrong hands?

Before GDPR came into force on 25 May 2018 B&CE, provider of The People’s Pension, already made sure that data protection was central to our business. Since GDPR, we’re more transparent about how we collect, use, share and store our customers’ data.

GDPR gives our customers more freedom to control the data we hold about them. This includes the:

  • Right of access
  • Right of rectification (correction)
  • Right to be forgotten
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right of portability
  • Right to object
  • Automated decision making

Take a look at our privacy notice to find out more about your rights and when we have a legal duty to hold onto your data.

We’re committed to protecting you from cyber attacks

B&CE take the security and protection of our customers’ data from cyber-attacks seriously. To demonstrate this B&CE have received certification in the Cyber Essentials scheme from the National Cyber Security Centre, a government-backed scheme. This certification provides reassurance that our systems are protected against major forms of cyber-attack and gives confidence to our customers that we do all that we can to keep their data secure.

You can find out more about GDPR on the European Union website.
