Pension reforms: what you need to know
Workplace pension law is changing and the changes will affect every employer in the UK.
The Government estimate that over seven million workers are not saving enough for their retirement, so they're introducing changes to workplace pensions to address this issue.
These changes will affect you
From October 2012 onwards, the new legislation will be introduced and affect every employer, even if you only employ one person. You'll be required to put a suitable workplace pension in place, automatically enrol your workers (referred to as 'jobholders') and contribute to their pension.
Employers need to be aware of their new responsibilities and begin to think about introducing the changes now.
